Are you looking for the best magnetic screen door for dogs, or simply for yourself? If so, you’ve come to the right place.
Today, I’m going to share with you all about our magnetic screen door, and why we love it for our dogs. In addition to our personal reviews, I will share what others are saying about them as well.
The weather is getting warm, and it’s time to let in the fresh air. While leaving the doors open on hot days sounds great, keeping bugs out is not always easy to do.
Sure, traditional metal screens sound like the easy fix to keeping bugs out. However, we had more than just bugs to consider. We had to find a solution that kept the bugs out, but also allowed our dogs to come and go freely onto the back balcony.
After searching online for the best petsafe pet screen door, we finally purchased what we believed to be the best choice.
How to Choose the Right Magnetic Door Screen
When choosing magnetic screens, there are several things to consider.
Before purchasing the best magnetic screen door for dogs, you want to measure the size of your door frame.
Standard sizes of door frames are 36 x 80″ and 30 x 96″. Although these are the two most common door sizes in the United States, a standard door size can differ elsewhere. It’s always best to measure before purchasing a magnetic screen door.
Are you wanting magnetic screens for single doors or a double door? Or, perhaps you are looking for your pets to have easy access through a set of French doors or sliding glass doors. Whichever you desire, knowing the right size before ordering will save you time and the headache of returning it.
Things to consider when purchasing a magnetic screen door:
- Does it have strong magnets that snap together fast?
- Will it withstand strong winds?
- Do you want polyester mesh or fiberglass mesh?
- Is it the right size for your door opening?
- Does it come with a velcro system for metal door frames?
- Does it come with push pins for a wooden door frame?
- Affordable prices
- Does it allow natural light and a cool breeze?
- Is the screen heavy duty?
Best Magnetic Screen Door for Dogs
There are several options when shopping for the best magnetic screen for dogs. Personally, our top pick was the Flux Phenom Reinforced Magnetic Screen Door.
We choose this for several reasons.
First and foremost, after reading the reviews, we found many pet owners saying it was a great product. They, like you and I, didn’t want to cut a hole in our door to install a pet door. Instead, this offered them a semi-permanent solution.
If you are potty training your dog, this is a wonderful solution. It allows you to avoid the hassle of constantly opening the door to let your dogs or cats out. Just make sure you have a secured area for them to roam once they are outside.
Another reason we choose this particular screen door, is because it has reinforced edges, and came with extra push pins. Our door frame is wood, so we knew we’d be using the push pin system to install the door. Having extra was a piece of mind knowing we can quickly replace them if needed.
Furthermore, the Flux Phenom Magnetic Screen Door can fit doors up to 38 x 82″. That was plenty of room to assure a perfect fit. So, if you aren’t able to measure your door, this one assures it fits different sizes of most standard doors.

I’ll be honest. I wasn’t sure if the magnetic strips would be strong enough to close on it’s own. Sure enough, the powerful magnets proved me wrong.
The magnetic strips inside the reinforced edging of the liners pull together as soon as you walk through.
It’s like magic! The magic magnets are strong enough to stay closed on a windy day, but allow even small pets to push their way through.
Easy Installation of Best Screen Door
There are two ways in which you can install your magnetic screen door; push pins for velcro. Which way will depend on the type of door frame that you are using.
If your door has a metal frame, you will use the velcro system that comes with the Flux Phenom Magnetic Screen Door. The hook and loop fasteners have a self-adhesive tape.
If you have a wooden door frame, you will use the black metal push pins to hang the mesh panels.
Once attached to the door frame, the screen hangs down and the magnets pull the panels closed. That’s it! Installation couldn’t be easier.
